What is difference between .net and java ?

.Net :

1. It  was found by Microsoft.
2. It supports multiple languages like C#.net, Vb.net ,VC++ , web related applications such as ASP etc.
3. In .NET source code is converted to MSIL by the CLR supported by .NET.

JAVA :

1. Java was found by sun MicroSystems.
2. java is both programming language as well as developed technology.
3. Java source code is converted to Byte code by JVM.
